There is nothing any knitter would rather do on a winter weekend than stay home knitting while it’s freezing cold outside, and if it’s knitting some winter basics, all the better. Today we propose a very quick and easy stitch that you can use to make the most wintery accessories: scarves and hats. 😊

For this tutorial we used a skein of our The Wool and a pair of size 19 beechwood knitting needles.

Before beginning let’s do a quick review of the stitches you will need to know how to do before casting onto your needles 😉

Start by casting on a multiple of 4 stitches + 3.

Row 1: *knit 3, purl 1*. Repeat from * to * until there are 3 stitches left, knit 3.

Row 2: knit 1, purl 1, knit 1. *Knit 2, purl 1, knit 1*. Repeat from * to * until the end of the row.

Repeat rows 1 and 2 until you reach the desired length.

As you can see, it is a very easy and lovely stitch. Using our skeins of chunky wool, it comes out perfect! As always, we look forward to seeing which projects you use it for, so make sure to share on social networks using the haskhtag #weareknitters 😊
